EC! Laminate Sample #17:
- Reinforcement: 6oz woven e-glass
- Resin: Entropy Resins CLR / CLF epoxy
- Core: none
Panel weight: 2.64 oz per square foot / 0.81kg per square meter
Thickness 0.024″ / 0.6mm
Overview:
For the simplest and floppiest laminate sample yet – this one is just two plies of 6oz fiberglass!
No bag, no fuss – just plenty of careful rolling and peel ply to finish things off.
While the flat sheet is very floppy, this could be useful as a data point for compound-curved moldings with very light weight single skin laminates. It would actually be useful for a shell or protective covering for small objects – especially ones with lots of curves. The open molding gives not-quite-ideal resin ratios but saves so much work!
A similar panel with carbon in the place of the glass would yield stiffer (but less damage-tolerant) results for the same weight.

Things to Improve:
Roll a bit on the first layer to avoid some little pinholes (forgot to show in the video) that were in one area of the molded face.
